Damarr Brown’s love for cooking started when he was young.

Brown learned his love of cooking at an early age. He gained the knack while cooking with his mother, who used to purchase him a lot of cookbooks. Brown’s grandma also encouraged him and spent time in the kitchen with him. He modeled his cooking after Emeril Lagasse and Julia Child. Brown worked in various kitchens after studying culinary skills at Le Cordon Bleu College, including the Capital Grille, MK, and Roister, a Michelin-starred restaurant.

On Virtue’s website, his bio reads:

“Damarr Brown believes in the notion of community, and he likes eating at restaurants both locally and internationally.” Music history is a favorite pastime, as is his never-ending hunt for new or forgotten tastes and techniques.”
