The 27th Critics Choice Awards, which will be broadcast worldwide, are shaping up to be the biggest ever. On February 16, 2022, the Critics Choice Association announced that their upcoming awards ceremony would be telecast live from events in London and Los Angeles.
In a lengthy statement, Joey Berlin, CEO of the Critics Choice Association, commented on the big night, saying,
“Over the last quarter-century, the influence of the Critics Choice Awards in the entertainment sector has increased enormously.” When the pandemic forced us to reschedule our performance date from January to the heart of awards season, we felt compelled to add a second stage in London to ensure that all of our honorees could participate in the live transmission. Two parties, two networks, two hosts – it’ll be a wild night on two continents.”

The 27th annual Critics Choice Awards were scheduled to take place on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City, California. They were later rescheduled for Sunday, March 13, 2022.
Unfortunately for award-show junkies, that date coincides with the transmission of the 2022 BAFTA. Awards, colloquially known as “the British Oscars.”
Where can I watch the Critics’ Choice Awards in 2022?
TBS and The CW Network will broadcast a simulcast of the award event in 2022. In terms of simulcasting, Berlin told Deadline,
“We are overjoyed that TBS will be simulcasting the show and presenting it to an ever-expanding audience.” And this is incredibly exciting news as Critics’ Choice becomes an increasingly important element of the awards season.”
Who is the show’s host this year?
Taye Diggs, who has hosted the show for the previous three years, has been picked to host it again in 2022, but this time he’ll be accompanied by Nicole Byer, best known as the host and judge of the Netflix competition series Nailed It!
Who are this year’s award nominees?
The Critics Choice Association gave Belfast and West Side Story the most nominations. Each with 11 nods, followed by Dune and The Power of the Dog, all with ten nods.
HBO’s fan-favorite family-business drama Succession tops the 2022 TV nominees announced on December 6, 2021. Mare of Easttown and Evil from Paramount Plus tied for second place with five prizes each.
Only Murders in the Building, Ted Lasso, The Good Fight, This Is Us, and WandaVision has received four nominations.
