Cooper Noriega, a TikTok celebrity from California renowned for his lip-sync videos and comedic routines, has died at the age of 19. On Thursday, the prominent figure was discovered dead in a Burbank parking lot. His death reason is still unclear. The Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office has sought “further research” into the case. Prior to his death on Thursday, the boy had shared a video with his 1.7 million TikTok followers. In an odd coincidence, the caption said:
“Who else is thinking they’re going to die young af?”
Noriega had also declared on social media four days before his death that he planned to start a Discord channel where people could discuss mental health. He said in a TikTok video:
“Come join if you’re truly into letting your feelings out, or whatever.” I made [the server] because I adore you guys and because I struggle with it myself. I’d want to utilize the power I’ve been given to build a forum dedicated to raising awareness and normalizing the discussion about mental illness.”
Barstool Sports’ BFFs podcast broke the news of Noriega’s death by sharing a black and white picture of him on social media. On June 1, Noriega appeared on the program.
