Converse Korea’s new ambassador is K-pop star Jeon Somi. The famous Chuck Taylor-All Stars fashion company named Jeon as its new ambassador by releasing photos of the idol on its social media account. Ennik Somi Douma, also known as Jeon Somi in Korea, is a Canadian-Dutch-Korean singer-songwriter residing in Seoul. Jeon rose to prominence after winning the competition program Produce 101. In 2016, she made her debut as a member of the K-pop girl group I.O.I.
Jeon Somi has joined the Converse Korea family.
Converse Korea announced and welcomed its new ambassador, Jeon Somi, on January 4, 2022, through its official Instagram account. The K-pop star was seen posing for photos while wearing iconic black Chuck Taylor All-Star sneakers. She wore her shoes with a patterned crop top and khaki slacks for a delightfully casual street-style outfit. On February 7, 2022, the Canadian-Dutch-Korean singer will participate in Converse Korea’s Create Next? Do Not Fight campaign. Other artists recognized for expressing their distinct talent without concentrating too much on losing or winning will also be included in the campaign. The campaign strives to build a future in which everyone lives together through inventing, re-inventing, and evolving.
Converse, fueled by the doors they have previously opened, focuses on going where inspiration leads them next. The fashion company is on a mission to build new possibilities by pushing the frontiers of culture and innovation. Converse shoes have remained consistent throughout the 2000s, despite altering fashion trends over the years. Because of their modest but traditional design, they have achieved legendary significance. The shoes are very tough and are the most durable sneakers in terms of wear and tear. As a result, customers keep coming back to buy these vintage Chuck Taylor All-Stars.

Jeon isn’t the first K-pop star to have worked with Converse Korea. Previously, Red Velvet’s Seulgi was named the official brand ambassador. She seized the chance and created her own one-of-a-kind pair of shoes. The singer uploaded photographs of the Converse Korea sneakers she made in cooperation with DreamWorks. The designs were inspired by the characters from the film Trolls.
Jeon’s solo career path
Following the disbandment of I.O.I’s formal group activities in 2017, K-pop diva Jeon Somi debuted as a solo artist. Jeon debuted as a soloist under The Black Label on June 13, 2019, with the song Birthday, and her first studio album XOXO was released on October 29, 2021. The album was released by YG Plus and Interscope Records. It has eight songs and five singles to back it up. The world-famous K-pop star took the stage at the Golden Disc Awards 2022. Aespa, Stray Kids, Enhypen, Tomorrow X Together, Seventeen, IU, BTS, and many more artists performed at the music ceremony. Jeon Somi and K-pop boy duo The Boyz shared the Best Performance prize.
