Career

At age 4, Custer began racing quarter midgets. He won USA National Young Guns in 2011. Also, he won 10 races and was Rookie of the Year.

He debuted in the K&N Pro Series East in 2013 at Bristol. In 2013, he won the pole and led every lap, becoming the youngest K&N Pro Series race winner by six months.

In 2014, Custer won the Pro West opener at Phoenix International Raceway, beating Brennen Newberry and Greg Pursley. Also, he joined Haas Racing Development for nine NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races. In 2014, he ran the Martinsville Kroger 250. In the Drivin’ for Linemen 200 at Motorsports Park, Custer started ninth and finished 12th.

Custer made his JR Motorsports Xfinity Series debut in 2016 at Richmond International Raceway. Custer finished fourth in the Hisense 4k TV 300 for Motorsports at Charlotte. He finished 37th at Daytona to start the 2017 Xfinity season. The next week in Atlanta, he finished 10th.

Fontana, Chicago, Richmond, Pocono, Kentucky, and Dover for Custer in 2019. Despite being declared the winner, he finished second after Denny Hamlin was disqualified.
