Valérie Plante (now X) just mentioned Claude’s death on Twitter. The cause of death for Claude Cormier has not yet been reported by his family. Although the actual reason for his death is unclear, it is possible that it was the result of a sickness or an accident. The death of Claude Cormier comes as a shock and a big loss. Claude was a great Montrealer who was also a visionary and builder.
Many local icons and public areas bore his stamp, including the Ring, Village Boules, Dorchester Square, Clock Beach, and others. His contributions to architecture will be remembered in perpetuity.
