Christine began participating in athletics in 2017. By May 2019, she had won the 800 and 1500 meters races at the school’s Cossasa Games in Manzini, Eswatini. She won a bronze medal in the 800 m in the Southern Africa Championships in Moka, Mauritius, two months later.

Christine also won gold medals in the 800 and 1500 meters in the Namibian Championships in Windhoek in November 2020. She won the 400 m race in the Grand Prix Meet in Oshakati, Namibia, on March 27, 2021.

Christine set a new personal best in the 200 m with a time of 22.67 seconds on June 7 at the Josef Odlozil Memorial in Prague, earning her a gold medal. Similarly, on June 30, 2021, she set the African senior and new world U20 records in the 400 m.

Christine won the Irena Szewinska Memorial in Bydgoszcz, Poland, and became the seventh fastest woman in history. She took silver at the Summer Olympics in 2020.She became the first Namibian woman to earn an Olympic medal and the country’s first medalist since 1996. On September 3, 2021, she won the 200 m race at her maiden Diamond League competition in Brussels. On September 9, she won the Diamond League championship in Zürich, clocking 21.78 seconds to capture her first Diamond Trophy, rounding off a very successful season.
