Christina in the Country, HGTV’s fresh new series, will debut on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET. The first episode, Taking on Tennessee, will feature Christina Hall, a California-based designer and realtor, and her husband Joshua Hall, who will be restoring, creating, and modifying living spaces in Nashville, Tennessee. The six-part docuseries, a spin-off of HGTV’s Christina on the Coast, will follow Christina, her husband Joshua, their three children — Taylor, 11, Brayden, 6, and Hudson, 2 — and their french bulldog Cash as they settle in the Tennessee countryside to explore the world of design.
The official summary for Christina in the Country’s first episode is as follows:
“As Christina launches her design firm in Tennessee, Josh suggests his sister and her husband as Christina’s first customers; Christina redesigns their kitchen and living rooms and experiences rural life and Nashville nightlife.”
Christina referred to her next project as her “best project ever” in an Instagram post from November 2022. She stated:
“I have fallen in love with Tennessee and it really has become our home away from home. It’s a dream come true to be able to expand my design company both here and in California.”

The first episode of Christina in the Country will include Joshua Hall’s sister as a client.
The program will include Christina’s third husband, Joshua Hall, a Texas-based realtor, and former law enforcement officer who grew up in California and became a part of Christina’s life when the pair married in April last year. The pair established Unbroken Productions, a collaborative production business that co-produced Christina on the Coast season 4. Christina in the Country will also be co-produced by the firm.
Tarek El Moussa and Ant Anstead, Christina’s exes, will also appear in the future season. The duo will be shown on the program designing contemporary kitchens, spa-like baths, and one-of-a-kind living spaces for lucky clientele. Christina and her family will visit Nashville and all of its attractions, including berry picking, an alpaca farm visit, horseback riding, and line dancing.
Joshua’s sister is the first customer featured in Episode 1 of the program.
Christina and her team, which includes colleague designer and project manager James Bender, will be featured on the season’s opening episode as they turn a dated property into a gorgeous new one.
According to a news release, Hall stated:
“It’s been a lot of fun co-producing this program with my husband, and we’re quite proud of it!” We have an incredible staff in both California and Tennessee, and I am appreciative of all of the collaboration that has gone into making two concerts happen at the same time. I’m certain you’ll like this presentation as much as we do and fall in love with the South!”
According to HGTV’s website, the channel’s Vice President of Programming, Katie Ruttan-Daigle, explained the scope of the new series:
“Christina has captured millions of ardent admirers with her West Coast life in three seasons of Christina on the Coast. She’s now ready to share fresh family experiences as well as magnificent design and remodeling projects located in Tennessee’s lovely countryside. “We can’t wait to see what happens next for Christina in the Country.”
Christina in the Country, produced by Balthazar Entertainment in collaboration with Glass Entertainment Group and Unbroken Productions, will debut this Thursday, January 12, at 8 p.m. ET on HGTV and Discovery Plus.
