Chris Ledesma, a well-known music editor, died recently at the age of 64. The reason for death has not been disclosed. He rose to prominence for his work on the popular animated series The Simpsons. On a memorial in Sunday’s episode, My Life as a Vlog, the program revealed Ledesma’s death with a title card that said “In loving remembrance of Chris Ledesma.” On the Simpsons’ famous orange sofa, an animated version of the music editor was seen seated between Homer and Marge. Ledesma smiled as he coached Bart, Maggie, and Lisa as they tried out various instruments. Carolyn Omine, the show’s writer, said on Twitter that Ledesma loved his profession and was “truly, very brilliant at it.”

Many of Ledesma’s colleagues and followers paid their tributes on Twitter. Jake Schaefer, the show’s current music editor, wrote in a tweet,
“Chris Ledesma’s love of music and The Simpsons served as an influence. I’m thankful for the time I had with him this year. He was a wonderful mentor and a wonderful guy. My thoughts are with his family.”

Josh Weinstein, who used to be the show’s producer, said that Ledesma was the most skilled member of the team.
Chris Ledesma’s work on The Simpsons was well-known.
Chris, who was born on January 28, 1958, grew up in Southern California and excelled at the piano and trumpet at an early age. He attended the California Institute of the Arts and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he began his career as a music editor in a student film.
In 1984, Ledesma became a tour guide at Universal Studios Hollywood, and during his break, he observed score sessions for TV programs such as Murder, She Wrote, Airwolf, Amazing Stories, and others. He began his career as a music editor for Segue Music, Music Design Group, and Music Works before launching his own firm, Click Track, Inc. He worked on films such as Pure Country, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and Blast from the Past, as well as TV programs such as Gypsy, War and Remembrance, and others.
Chris was the music editor for every episode of The Simpsons from season 1 through season 33, beginning in 1989. He left the program last year owing to health issues. Ledesma was also nominated for a Golden Reel Award for his performance in the show’s tenth season’s 11th episode, titled Wild Barts Can’t Be Broken. The Simpsons are one of the longest-running cartoon series. From December 17, 1989, until September 25, 2022, the program ran for 34 seasons and 740 episodes.
