Chris Herren was born and raised in the city of Fall River, Massachusetts, in the United States of America. From 1990 to 1994, he attended Durfee High School. During his time at the school, he managed to score 2,073 points, the highest score ever achieved by a student there. His basketball prowess earned him a spot in the book Fall River Dreams, as well as being named basketball player of the year by both the Boston Globe and Gatorade.
