Caspar Phillipson’s childhood, several films and television productions, part in Netflix’s Blonde, and more
Caspar Phillipson was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, on January 13, 1971, to parents Dane Helle Vibeke Brinch and Brit Robert Phillipson. He apparently became interested in performing at an early age and went on to attend the National Danish Drama School at Aarhus Theater in Denmark. Caspar Phillipson has been a well-known name in the theater from the beginning of his career. He was also said to have taught at a prestigious theater school. Phillipson has also experimented with dubbing, most notably voicing Johnny Depp’s Willy Wonka in Tim Burton’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in Danish.
Phillipson has also been in a number of Scandinavian films and television episodes, such as Borgen, The Bridge, The Protectors, and Sommeren ’92, to mention a few. His most well-known performance was as John F. Kennedy in Pablo Lauran’s award-winning movie Jackie. The actor only had a short cameo in the film, but his charm, charisma, and startling likeness to the late US President drew the attention of both fans and reviewers.
Many commentators have said that Caspar Phillipson resembles Kennedy much more than other actors who have portrayed the president, such as Greg Kinnear and James Mardsen. Phillipson has made remarks as Kennedy in a number of live engagements since Jackie. Casper Phillipson reprises his role as John F. Kennedy in the upcoming Netflix film Blonde, which also stars Ana de Armas as Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn Monroe famously sang “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” for John F. Kennedy at a birthday gathering. It was a pivotal event in both Monroe’s and Kennedy’s careers, and it is likely to be included in the film. Tragically, the great actress died a few months after the memorable occasion.
