Case Keenum was born on February 17, 1988, in Brownwood, Texas, United States of America. He spent his early years in Alpine, Texas, before relocating to Abilene, Texas. Casey Austin Keenum is his given name or birth name.
The Case is the son of Steve Keenum, a former offensive lineman at McMurry University who later served as head football coach and athletic director, and Susan Keenum. The elder Keenum was also the head coach at Sul Ross State, the offensive coordinator at Tarleton State, and the offensive line coach at Hardin-Simmons.

Case Keenum made his collegiate debut on September 1, 2007, against Oregon as the Cougars opened the season. He completed 14 27 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown against the Ducks and added 47 rushing yards on nine carries.

He was a third-string quarterback on the Texans’ 53-man roster in 2013, behind starter Matt Schaub and backup quarterback T. J. Yates. On October 20, he threw his first NFL touchdown pass, a 29-yarder to DeAndre Hopkins, in his pro debut. Additionally, he completed 15 of 25 passes for 271 yards and a touchdown, good for the season’s highest passer rating by a Texan quarterback. Houston, on the other hand, lost 17-16.
The Texans later waived him on August 31, 2014. The following day, he was claimed off waivers by the St. Louis Rams and waived on October 28, 2014.
