Cary Elwes recently posted a graphic image of his bitten rattlesnake hand on Instagram. On April 25, the Stranger Things star revealed that he was doing well after being bitten by the reptile on Saturday. Elwes shared a picture of his injured finger, which appeared swollen and bruised. He began his message by writing,
“Bit not by a ROUS but a rattlesnake.”
ROUS, or Rodents of Unusual Size, are creatures from the film The Princess Bride. He also expressed gratitude to the medical and emergency personnel who assisted him in his time of need. He penned,
“Grateful to the staff of Malibu Urgent Care, LA County Fire Dept. and the staff and medical professionals at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center for their great care. Am recovering well thanks to all these wonderful folks.”

Is Cary Elwes okay?
After being bitten by a rattlesnake near his Malibu home, Elwes was airlifted to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center on Saturday. According to sources close to him, he was working outside when the accident occurred, and it was not revealed where he was bitten.
According to reports, Elwes’ injury was serious enough that he required immediate medical attention, and those around him believed it was a life-threatening injury. He received the assistance he required at the time and is no longer in danger.
On the set of The Princess Bride, the 59-year-old was previously injured and hospitalized twice. He was knocked out cold by accident during a fake KO scene and required stitches at the time. He then broke his toe at one point and hobbled around the entire shoot.
