Carter Hart is a Canadian professional ice hockey goalie who plays for the Philadelphia Flyers in the NHL. He was reared in Sherwood Park, Alberta, and has had a strong interest in hockey since boyhood. Hart started training with a sports psychologist at the age of 10 and competed in minor hockey in the Alberta Minor Midget AAA League.
The Flyers selected Hart in the second round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Furthermore, he was the most highly-picked goalkeeper that season. On December 18, 2018, Hart became the Flyers’ youngest goalie to win his NHL debut. In 2020, he became the Flyers’ youngest goalkeeper to win a playoff game. The case was eventually resolved in May 2022, but many speculated that Carter’s absence was due to the controversy. Shortly after the lawsuit was filed, the NHL launched an investigation. However, there has been no update. On January 21, Carter and Dillon Dube, a Calgary Flames forward and member of that Canadian squad, both took an indefinite leave of absence.
