Carla Wallace Obituary: How Did She Passed Away? Mike Wallace Wife Death

Carla Wallace

Carla Wallace, the wife of NASCAR driver Mike Wallace, died after battling ovarian cancer for four years. Carla and Mike have been married for more than forty years. Wallace shared the awful news on his Facebook account. The couple had three children, and one of them even followed in their father’s footsteps. Mike Wallace hails from a family of racecar racers. His two brothers, Rusty Wallace and Kenny Wallace, raced in NASCAR. Wallace attracted public criticism for a social media post in 2020 and was banned indefinitely for violating the Behavioral Sections policy. He was reinstated in 2021, and his final appearance in the Xfinity Series came in July 2020 for the Pennzoil 150 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, when he raced for JD Motorsports.

Mike Wallace Wife Carla’s Obituary and Death

Mike Wallace’s wife, Carla Wallace, was his companion of 44 years. The pair married in their late teens and had three children: daughters Chrissy and Lindsey, and son Matt. Mike posted the terrible news of his wife’s death on his Facebook page. The NASCAR driver rushed to Facebook to post a snapshot of Carla. In a letter, he said, “I am devastated by my beautiful wife, Carla, passed away at 5:44 today from a four-year battle against Ovarian Cancer, and yes, Cancer sucks.”

Thousands of his followers, as well as those close to him and Carla, paid homage in the comments area. On January 21, Mike revealed that his wife was battling for her life in the hospital. He uploaded a flashback photo of himself and Carla from their wedding day, as well as photos of Carla with her grandchildren and on the podium during one of his races. Wallace claimed that Carla did not want anybody to know about her continuous cancer treatment. She also urged her family not to discuss the disease with anybody outside of the home. Wallace requested that his supporters pray for his wife and perform a miracle.

Previously, in 2011, Carla and Mike had to postpone their 32nd wedding anniversary party because Mike opted to compete at Talladega Superspeedway. During the post-race interview, Mike said that he had not discussed the racing experience with Carla. But the racer said his wife knew how much it meant to him. Mike eventually triumphed, and giving up on the trip was not seen negatively.

Mike Wallace’s Children: the Racer Shared Three with Wife Carla

Many racing fans may be familiar with Mike Wallace’s youngest daughter, Chrissy Wallace. The father-daughter combination made news in 2009 when Chrissy chose to follow in her father’s footsteps. Chrissy started her racing career in 2007 at the age of 19. She was the first female driver to win at Hickory Motor Speedway. A year later, she made her NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut, finishing tenth.

In 2009, Chrissy and Mike became the first father-daughter team to compete in a national series event. They participated in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Mountain Dew 250. Chrissy last raced in 2011 and has maintained a quiet profile since. In an interview in 2011, Chrissy said that her ambition was to get a ride in the Truck Series in 2012. Last year, in June, her uncle, Kenny Wallace, mentioned her briefly in a YouTube video. Kenny said that Chrissy had to abandon her NASCAR goal due to a lack of sponsors. Chrissy is active on Facebook and has uploaded numerous family photographs.

Mike’s eldest daughter, Lindsey Wallace

Lindsey Wallace Van Wingerden, Mike and Carla’s oldest daughter, pursued a professional path distinct from her father. Lindsey is a Morgan Stanley project manager and event planner who graduated from UNC Charlotte. She is married to Thomas Van Wingerden and has three children. The couple had their first kid, Thomas Jr., in 2017, and their second child, daughter Ellie, in 2020. On January 15, Lindsey and Thomas welcomed the world to Grayson Michael Van Wingerden, their newest addition to the family. Lindsey, Mike, Carla, and Thomas were assaulted in 2016 after attending a Rascal Flatts performance. Mike was hit and kicked repeatedly, while Lindsey was apparently kicked in the ribs. Three individuals were eventually detained and charged with assault.

Mike Wallace Son Matt Tried His Hands At Racing

Matt Wallace, the youngest member of the family, aspired to follow in his father’s footsteps. Matt made his racing debut in 2015, at the age of 19. He raced in the Xfinity Series for JGL Racing but never became a phenomenon. In an interview, Matt said that his father never encouraged him to race and has been his staunchest supporter. Matt is on Instagram but has kept his account private. Matt is seen on his display image next to his wife, who seems to be pregnant.
