Bryan Adams was born on November 5, 1959, in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, to Elizabeth Jane and Captain Conrad J. Adams. He attended Colonel By Secondary School in Eaton, Ontario.
He joined Sweeney Todd’s band when he was 17 years old. Despite their success, Adams left the band after only a year.
In 1978, he signed with A&M Records. While still exploring the music scene, he met guitarist Keith Richards and Jim Vallance, both of whom remain a part of his creative process to this day.

In 1980, he released his first album. In 1981, You Want It, You Got It was released. In 1983, he released his third album, Cuts Like a Knife. Reckless, his fourth album, was released in 1984 and featured hit songs such as “Summer of ’69,” “Heaven,” “It’s Only Love,” “One Night Love Affair,” and “Run to You.” Bryan’s best-selling album, it has been certified platinum five times in the United States.
Adams decided to begin his two-year world tour to promote his album in the last month of 1984. The tour was a huge success, with sold-out shows on two continents.
In 1985, he collaborated with Roger Daltrey on two songs. Into the Fire, Adams’ fifth album, was released in 1987 and featured the chart-topping songs “Hearts on Fire” and “Heat of the Night.”
Waking Up the Neighbors, his sixth album, was released in 1991 and featured the hit songs “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You,” “Do I Have to Say the Words?” and “Thought I’d Died and Gone to Heaven.” The following year, he began his second world tour, “Waking Up the World.” In 1993, he co-wrote the hit song “All for Love” with Sting and Rod Stewart.
