Brian Porter Kemp (born November 2, 1963) is an American businessman and politician who currently serves as the 83rd Governor of Georgia. He formerly served as Georgia’s 27th Secretary of State from 2010 to 2018 and as a member of the Georgia State Senate from 2003 to 2007. He is a Republican.

Kemp attended Athens Academy until ninth grade when he switched to Clarke Central High School to play football coach Billy Henderson. In 1983, he graduated from Clarke Central. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the University of Georgia.
