Brandon Richard Flowers, the youngest of six children, was born on June 21, 1981, in Henderson, Nevada, to parents Jean Yvonne and Terry Austin Flowers. He has a more established sibling and four older sisters. Flowers’ family lived in Henderson until he was eight years old, when they moved to Payson, Utah, for a long time before relocating to Nephi, Utah, where he was in sixth grade.
Blossoms lived in Nephi until his junior year of high school at Juab High School. In 1999, he moved to Las Vegas to live with his auntie and graduated from Chaparral High School. Blossoms stated that growing up in Las Vegas as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints prepared him for the universe of awesome.

Brandon Flowers became the Killers in response to an advertisement placed in the Las Vegas Weekly by Dave Keuning in late 2001. Flowers and Keuning were joined by bassist Mark Stoermer and drummer Ronnie Vannucci in August 2002, after a couple of transient bassists and drummers. Between 2003 and 2017, they released five back-to-back chart-topping studio collections and sold more than 22 million records worldwide.
Blossoms wrote the verses for the single “Every one of These Things That I’ve Done” and its mainstream hit “I Got Soul, But I’m Not A Soldier,” which was named one of The Daily Telegraph’s “100 Greatest Songs of All Time” and earned one of the band’s seven Grammy nominations.
On July 4, 2010, the Killers performed at the White House as part of the “Salute to the Military” USO Concert. They performed “God Bless America” as well as top selections from their index.
