Billie Eilish Has Been The First Artist Born In The 21st Century To Win An Oscar

Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas received an Oscar for their song No Time to Die from the James Bond film of the same name at the 94th Academy Awards on Sunday. The twins received the Oscar for Best Original Song. In March 2021, the song previously won a Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media. Billie Eilish is also the first artist born in the twenty-first century to win an Oscar.

Billie Eilish remarked when she accepted the prize,

“I’m about to scream because this is so ridiculous.” The 20-year-old vocalist complimented Hans Zimmer, who composed the song’s orchestral arrangement, and guitarist Johnny Marr for “taking our song and making it worthy of James Bond.”

Meanwhile, Hans Zimmer received an Oscar for best original score for the soundtrack of Dune at the Academy Awards.

Meanwhile, Finneas said,

“Finally, we’d want to thank our parents, who have always been our greatest inspirations and idols.” We adore you as parents, but we also adore you as individuals. Thank you very much, Academy. We pledge not to misplace them.”
