Ben’s career is said to have begun as a teenager, when he began writing a column called “Any Given Sunday” for National Review Online (NRO), in addition to his personal blog. The NRO column recapped political talk shows on television and was so successful that he was mentioned positively by a Washington Post reporter.
Between 1999 and 2002, Ben attended the College of William and Mary. He did not finish his senior year, however, because he was appointed to the George W. Bush administration, becoming the administration’s youngest political appointee.
Ben later worked as a speechwriter for Secretary of Health and Human Services Tommy Thompson. He later became a contributing editor for National Review Online. Two years later, he worked as a chief speechwriter for US Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), as well as an editor at Regnery Publishing, where he edited books by Michell Malkin, and Ramesh Ponnuru, and Hugh Hewitt.
He was hired by the Washington Post in March 2006 but resigned three days later due to evidence of plagiarism. Domenech also wrote a number of columns during the elections in 2008 and 2012.
