Benjamin Winans was born on September 17, 1962, in Detroit, Michigan. He is the seventh child of David Winans Sr. (father) and Delores Winans, a gospel music performer (mother).
Marvin, Carvins, Ronald, Daniel, Michael, and David Winans Jr. are his six brothers, and Cece, Angelique, and Debra are his three sisters. They are Dutch in origin. His academic qualifications are unknown.
Career
BeBe Winans began her career as a pair with her sister Cece. They later performed as a background vocalist on Jim Bakker’s TV show, The PTL Club. They even recorded their debut album, Lord Lift Us Up, for the show in 1984, due to popular demand. After leaving PTL in the mid-’80s, they signed with Sparrow Records and recorded albums such as BeBe & CeCe, Heaven, and Different Lifestyles.
Moving forward, he broke away from his sister in 1995 and began seeking a solo career. All of Me, his first single, was released in 1996. In 1997, he signed with Atlantic Records and released his first single album. He also released several singles under Atlantic that year, including In Harm’s Way and Thank You.
After leaving Atlantis, he signed with Motown in 1999 and departed four years later to launch his own record company, The Movement Group. With The Manchurian Candidate, he made his debut film appearance in 2004. He portrayed the character of Williams, an FBI agent in the film. He currently broadcasts his own radio show, The BeBe Winans Radio Show. He’s also appeared as a judge on Sunday Best, a true gospel singing competition.
