In terms of his career, he began gymnastics at a very young age. He won the 1972 U.S. Junior National Championships at the age of 14 and the Gymnastics Federation All-Around championship at the age of 17.

During the 1979 Summer Olympics, he was also the youngest member of the Olympic team. Similarly, at the 1975 Pan American Games, he won a gold medal in team all-around.

Due to the boycott, Bart was unable to compete in the 1980 Summer Olympics. After four years, he won two gold medals in the 1984 Summer Olympics for men’s parallel bars and team all-around.

His victory on the parallel bars aided the United States in capturing its first men’s Olympic gymnastics gold medal in 80 years. Furthermore, during the 1984 Olympics, he demonstrated an original move known as the “Conner spin.”

Bart Conner has won medals at every national and international level of competition. He was inducted into the USOC Olympic Hall of Fame in 1991, the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame in 1997, the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 1996, and the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 1998. (1997).
