Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt of Bachelor in Paradise have married! The joyful pair married in New York City Hall on Thursday, October 27, 2022, and announced the news on their social media profiles. Serena and Joe got engaged during the season 7 finale of Bachelor in Paradise, which aired in the summer of 2021, despite only knowing each other for a few weeks. Before moving in together in March 2022, the pair had been in a long-distance relationship for about a year. According to Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt,
“We’ve always known marriage was in our destiny; it simply didn’t look like we imagined.”
Serena and Joe also want to organize a large wedding with their family and friends next autumn because, as the groom said,
“Who wouldn’t want to marry their true love twice?”

Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt were crowned prom king and queen
Amabile and Serena Pitt met during the season 7 premiere of Bachelor in Paradise, which aired on August 16, 2021, but was filmed that summer. Joe was concerned about being alone on the beach since it was his second time there. He said,
“So, until I find someone I’m truly interested in, I don’t see the sense in sticking.”
On the first day, he was observed kissing Serena and developing affection for her. The season’s prom episode aired on September 29, and Joe Amabile shared an Instagram snapshot of the two together. He and Serena had been crowned prom king and queen. On October 5, the show’s conclusion aired, when Joe proposed to Serena after his ex appeared on the beach, confirming his sentiments that he only loved Selena and not his ex Kendall Long. He inquired of Pitt,
“You were the first to tell me you were in love with me. You were the first to tell me you loved me; now it’s my time. Serena Pitt, I adore you; would you marry me?”
Serena shared a photo of them together shortly after the finale aired. Joe previously said on the Bachelor Happy Hour Podcast that they were taking things slowly in real life before marrying. Joe departed for Chicago after the event, but Serena remained in Toronto. They said that they were together for about a month on the program before spending 10 days in Mexico. As a result, they entered into a long-distance relationship in which they could visit one other once a week.
They spent Thanksgiving with Joe Amabile’s family in Chicago and Christmas with Serena’s family in New York. Joe and Serena were also present at the People’s Choice Awards in 2021. Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt moved in together in New York in March 2022, with Joe saying,
“I can’t wait to move in with Serena so we just have one place to go since traveling back and forth between our two apartments has been a pain.”
Serena told Life & Style in May that the pair were considering a wedding date. The couple was nominated for Best Reality Romance at the MTV Movie and TV Awards 2022, however, they were defeated by Loren and Alexei Brovarnik. Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt arranged an engagement party in Toronto on August 25, 2022, after discovering their parents had never met in person. On October 27, 2022, the pair married.
