ASAP Rocky has been charged with criminal assault with a handgun in connection with his alleged role in a shooting incident in 2021. According to L.A. County District Attorney George Gascon, firing a pistol in a public area is a crime that may have resulted in disastrous repercussions for the target and other persons there. In addition, Gascon stated:
“After thoroughly reviewing the evidence in this case, my office concluded that the inclusion of a particular firearm charge was merited.”
Rocky’s arraignment is set on August 17 at Foltz Criminal Justice Center Department 30. The shooting investigation is still ongoing, according to the LAPD.

Information about the shooting incident
Following the new charges, there is no word on whether ASAP Rocky will be arrested. ASAP Rocky, actual name Rakim Mayers, was arrested in April of this year at the Los Angeles International Airport on accusations of assault with a firearm. He was subsequently freed on bail for $550,000. Mayers was engaged in a gunshot incident in November 2021, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
According to reports, the rapper aimed a pistol at the victim and fired two rounds at them. While no one was murdered, the victim had an injury to their left hand, and Mayers fled the scene with two other persons.The victim was identified as Terell Ephron, who met with Mayers to discuss their differences, which did not occur because Mayers threatened him with a pistol. Mayers was charged with assault and battery, and Ephron had to seek medical attention for his injuries.
ASAP Rocky’s previous legal difficulties
ASAP Rocky and rapper Casanova were sentenced to jail in 2006 for drug-dealing offenses. He was detained again in July 2012 for his alleged participation in a brawl in midtown Manhattan. Rocky was sued in July 2012 for assaulting an unnamed person, and he was arrested for assaulting two photographers who were taking photographs at the time of the incident. He was charged with misdemeanor simple assault after allegedly slapping a lady at the Budweiser Made in America Festival in August 2013.
Mayers was then sued for breach of contract by his former manager, Geno Sims, in September 2015. He was detained again in July 2019 after a scuffle in the street with Mustafa Jafari and another individual. ASAP Rocky, 33, just released his first album, Long. Live.
