Arthur Cazaux’s parents have kept themselves out of the public eye. In several interviews, the French star has expressed gratitude to his parents for their assistance in improving his tennis career. Cazaux, a Montpellier native, began playing tennis at the age of three. Cazaux has always said that Rafael Nadal was the player he sought to emulate as a child.
The teenager made his ATP debut in 2020 and won his maiden match the following year in the 2021 Geneva Open. Arthur made his major slam debut as a wildcard in the 2021 French Open. Since then, he’s come a long way. Last year, he entered the US Open as a fortunate loser but was eliminated in the first round by Andrey Rublev. Arthur has made a strong start to the new year. The world number 122 generated a stir by defeating the world number eight, Holger Rune, in the current Australian Open. The 21-year-old triumphed 7-6 (4), 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 at Margaret Court Arena.
Arthur Cazaux’s Parents: The First Tennis Player in Their Family
Previously, in an interview, Arthur Cazaux said that his parents were not athletes but had a talent for athletics. He said his father is an avid sports lover. One way Arthur learned about the sport was by sitting on the sofa with his father and watching Roland Garros. He was three years old when he first watched Rafael Nadal play, and his love of tennis has grown since then.
Soon after seeing tennis for the first time, Arthur begged his parents to get him a tennis racket, and he began practicing by hitting against his home’s wall. And while practicing, Arthur tried to mimic Nadal. Despite originating from a non-athletic background, Arthur has always expressed gratitude to his parents for their support during his tennis career. His parents have kept themselves out of the public eye. The tennis player’s parents urged that Arthur remain in France and develop his profession rather than go overseas.
When Arthur reached the 2020 Australian Open Junior finals, his mother was approached for feedback on his performance. Ms. Cazaux expressed her pride in Arthur’s accomplishments, stating that his positive attitude and combativeness had helped him advance in his work.
Arthur Cazaux’s Ethnicity
The French player refers to himself as a Montpellier purebred. The tennis player is of White descent and was born in Montpellier, a city in southern France. Arthur resided in Montpellier until the age of nine, after which he relocated to Juvignac. After a few years, he relocated to Matelles near Pic Saint-Loup, and then in 2020, to Paris. Arthur was four years old when he joined the Juvignac Tennis Club.
At the age of six, he was recognized by the Languedoc-Roussillon league, where he trained both for the league and club. At the age of nine, he joined the Saint-Gély-du-Fesc club. By this point, the boy had been coached by Frédéric Chevalier, Frédéric Pawlak, and Florent Lévêque. Arthur dropped out of school at the age of 13 to pursue a distance learning degree with the CNED, after which he started attending coaching sessions from Julien Gillet. Arthur had tutoring sessions from Gillet until 2020, and he made his professional debut at the 2020 Open 13. Stephane Huet is Cazaux’s current coach, and he has previously trained Irena Pavlovic, Laetitia Sarrazin, and Manon Arcangioli.
