Arlene Golonka was born in Chicago, Illinois, on January 23, 1936, she was known as Arlene Leanore Golonka. In Ben Gazzara’s musical “The Night Circus,” Arlene got her big break. On November 17, 1958, the play premiered for the first time in the United States of America. After only a week of preview performances, the play was promptly transferred to Broadway, where it opened on December 2, 1958. Ben’s ‘The Night Circus,’ on the other hand, only had seven Broadway showings before it was pulled off the schedule. She went on to work on more plays after that. Jackie Gleason, Walter Pidgeon, and Robert Morse worked on the play ‘Take Me Along’ together from the late 1950s through the late 1960s. During the course of a year, they appeared 448 times.
After appearing in Neil Simon’s ‘Blow Your Horn’ on Broadway, she tried her hand at acting on television. Lived in Los Angeles after moving there in 1967 and has lived there ever since. She was also a voice actress for many animated and live-action TV shows.
