Arie Luyendyk Jr was born in’s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands, on September 18, 1981. Arie and Mieke Luyendyk raised Luyendyk, his twin brother Alec, Luca, and their sister Maida. As his family relocated to the United States, he grew up in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Luyendyk’s father was a former race car driver known as “The Flying Dutchman.”
