The debut episode of Bravo’s new program, Real Girlfriends in Paris (RGiP), premiered on Monday, September 5, 2022, and featured six female friends from America in the French city. While Anya Firestone has lived in Paris for a decade, the other five members of the group are trying to make ends meet in order to continue their luxury lifestyle. Anya appeared in Season 1 Episode 1 of Real Girlfriends in Paris, where she shared an apartment in Paris with her fiancé Matthieu Rasset.
Matthieu made his début in the first episode, joining Anya around the streets of Paris while the pair walked their dog, Zsa Zsa, who was also adorned in a fashionable dog jacket. He had a lot of screen time in the first episode, hinting that he’d play a significant part in the program.

The lifestyle of Anya and Matthieu in the Real Girlfriends in Paris Season 1 premiere revealed that the two made a nice livelihood. Anya confessed on the program that she is a licensed tour guide who costs 500 Euros for tours of Paris’ historical and cultural landmarks.
Matthieu, on the other hand, is a data scientist and luxury business specialist. He was raised by physics and mathematics teachers. He graduated from the University of Le Havre with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in international business and started his career in sales after acquiring an interest in timepieces and their mechanics. After working in the jewelry, horology, and luxury sectors for seven years, he chose to pursue a career in data science. The native of Paris is fluent in French, English, Japanese, and Chinese.
Matthieu and Anya’s love story
He is engaged to Anya Firestone of Real Girlfriends in Paris in his personal life. They met five years ago at a bar at the Ritz Paris’ Bar Hemingway and have been together ever since. Anya uploaded a receipt from the pub where the pair first met in 2017 last year.
The Instagram post’s caption read:
“I discovered a receipt dated August 13, 2017, Ritz, Paris, France: when I went to Bar Hemingway by myself for a martini.” @matthieu rasset felt the same way. We met that night and never parted ways. “Happy 4th anniversary, my love!”

They share a nice downtown apartment. They were in a long-distance relationship before to living together, so virtual dating was typical for them even before the epidemic.

The official description of Real Girlfriends in Paris Season 1 Episode 1 is titled Bonjour Paris! and reads:
“Over fried food and ranch dressing, Victoria, Kacey, and Adja exchange life tales; Anya welcomes the ladies for an American Thanksgiving meal, where Emily opens up about hoping to find love in Paris.”
The episode began with each cast member’s introduction and finished with an intimate Thanksgiving meal at Anya’s place. Real Girlfriends in Paris Season 1 Episode 1 also included Kacey Margo, Emily Gorelik, Adja Toure, Margaux Lignel, and Victoria Zito in addition to Anya and his fiancé Matthieu. The opening episode also included Jean Lignel, Margaux’s father, and Victoria’s friend Yoanne Mobengo.
