Annemarie Wiley’s Parents and Family
Annemarie’s adoptive parents had a tremendous impact on her upbringing, notably her mother, Ingrid Hanssens Fast, who worked for Canada Post in Kelowna, British Columbia, and dedicated herself to community service. Along with her adoptive mother, Annemarie had assistance from her stepfather, Walter, who fostered a supportive atmosphere throughout her childhood. Sadly, both her stepfather, Walter, and her adoptive mother have died.
Despite the death of her stepfather and adoptive mother, Annemarie is determined to follow the principles established in her by her parents, preserving their memory through her deeds and accomplishments. In an interview, Annemarie disclosed that Wiley’s biological mother had asked not to reconcile with her. On the “RHOBH Aftershow,” she discussed her experience with DNA testing and finding a match despite being rejected when contacting a family for information.
Her real mother did not react and blocked her, leaving Annemarie upset. Annemarie and her husband, Marcellus, are loving parents to their three biological children, Marcellus Jr., Ariya Jayne, and Alivia Marie. Furthermore, she fully embraces the duty of becoming a stepmother to Marcellus’s daughter, Morocca Alise, from an earlier relationship. Annemarie also works as a nurse anesthetist while balancing her parental obligations and exhibiting devotion and elegance in managing her professional and personal lives.
Annemarie Wiley Discusses Her Real Mother’s Death
In a moving moment during the reunion, presenter Andy Cohen revealed that Annemarie’s mother, Jane, died while they were shooting Season 13. Annemarie spoke openly about the terrible event, telling how her mother’s health quickly worsened, with doctors detecting a big tumor in her lung during a regular check-up.
Despite her intense anguish, Annemarie preferred not to reveal her mother’s condition to her castmates during shooting, preferring to compartmentalize her feelings. In a pre-reunion interview, Annemarie stated that her mother died of Stage IV lung cancer three months after filming concluded, stressing the devastating effect it had on her family.
She added that she decided to tell her tale during the reunion to process her sorrow and raise awareness about the difficulties she had at the time.
“IN GENERAL, I JUST REALLY WANT PEOPLE TO GET A SENSE, PERIOD, OF WHO I AM AS A PERSON BECAUSE WE DIDN’T SEE ME…” She spoke about her reunion goals. “YOU DID NOT SEE WHAT I WAS GOING THROUGH ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CAMERA, LIKE MY MOM’S CANCER DIAGNOSE, MY MOM’S DEATH, MY ADOPTION TRAUMA, AND EVERYTHING. I want people to get to know me as an individual.”
