Andrew Webber was born in Kensington, England on March 22, 1948. He was born into a musical family, with his father, composer William Lloyd Webber, and mother, pianist and violinist Jean Johnstone. Andrew’s younger brother is a well-known cellist, and his aunt Viola used to be a stage actress.
While attending Westminster School, Andrew was awarded the prestigious Queen’s Scholarship. He later attended Magdalen College in Oxford to study history. But he soon dropped out and went to the Royal College of Music to study music instead.
