Andrea Bocelli was born on September 22, 1958, to Alessandro and Edi Bocelli. His parents were told not to have him because he would be born with a congenital disability. Bocelli eventually had congenital glaucoma diagnosed.
Andrea’s love of music began at a young age, and he learned to play a variety of instruments, including the saxophone, trombone, drums, guitar, and flute. He suffered a brain hemorrhage when he was 12 years old as a result of a football injury. This resulted in the development of blindness.
