Allen Stone, a popular singer-songwriter, is slated to represent Washington in the fourth edition of American Song Contest with his song A Little Bit of Both. On April 11, 2022, NBC will telecast the episode. The American Song Contest, hosted by Kelly Clarkson and Snoop Dogg, is produced by the same people that brought you the long-running Eurovision Song Contest and The Voice.
Allen Stone from the American Song Contest
Allen Stone was born in 1987 in Chewelah, Washington, a tiny town near Spokane, and grew up listening to gospel and Christian music. Stone’s father was a local church minister, and his mother was an obstetrician. Stone began practicing guitar at the age of 11 and began self-recording demo cassettes for his peers. He even composed his first piece of music.
Stone started leading teenage worship groups at the age of 14 and has never looked back. In his adolescence, he grew interested in classic soul music and began collecting golden era singer/songwriters and vintage R&B. Stone moved to Seattle after graduating from high school at the age of 18, where he started his career as a composer and performer. He began with a few shows on the West Coast and quickly grew to thousands of admirers. He subsequently started doing live concerts, doing up to 200 gigs a year.
His five full-length albums have a blend of earthy folk-rock, edgy soul-pop, and vintage R&B. Allen and his band have performed as openers for Stevie Wonder, Hall and Oates, O.A.R., Al Green, Dave Matthews Band, The Roots, and many more artists. They have wowed audiences on six continents and in every state in the United States with their full band live act. They’ve also been on prominent TV programs such as The Tonight Show, Conan, and The Late Show with David Letterman, to mention a few.
According to Linkedin, the singer-songwriter is a self-proclaimed “hippie with soul,” and his “vocals and melodic style show the clear influence of classic soul and R&B of the 1960s and ’70s, while his lyrics reveal an idealism and passion that recall the folk-inspired singer/songwriters of the same era.” The singer presently lives in Spokane, Washington, with his fiancée and their two dog children, Ricky Lake and Chunk. Stone is pleased to represent his state in the next edition of the American Song Contest, which will air on Monday.

The inaugural episode of the American Song Contest aired on March 21, 2022. The concert involves professional musicians from each of the United States’ states and territories. Participants compete for the title of ‘Best Original Song’ by performing their original tunes.
