He began his career at the age of eight with the television show American Playhouse. He appeared in the series as Young Arthur for a single episode. Three years later, he was cast as Randy Walker in the film 1988- Johnny Be Good. The film is centered on the life of a star high school football player, and numerous colleges want to recruit him. Following that, he appeared as Joe Boot in two episodes of the adventure drama mini-series Lonesome Dove.
