Mrs. Manson attended Cal State Fullerton and played volleyball for three seasons after graduating from high school. For her final season, she switched to the University of California, Los Angeles. Following graduation, she worked as a color analyst at UCLA for five months. She also began working as a social media manager and project coordinator at Skiver Advertising. Each athlete and their mother wore burgundy shirts reading “Moms’ Trip – For Lana.” Lana Manson, the mother of Avalanche defender Josh Manson, died of melanoma on August 5. Jack Johnson, Manson’s defensive partner, said that when the squad learned of the forthcoming “moms’ trip,” their first concern was for Josh.
