Emmy Medders recently spoke out about her relationship with Chase Chrisley. On Wednesday, December 27, 2022, the former appeared on her future sister-in-law Savannah Chrisley’s Unlocked podcast. She discussed her relationship with Chrisley Knows Best actor Chase, as well as what lead to their engagement in October 2022. Chase proposed to Emmy on October 5, 2022, at Tennessee’s First Horizon Baseball Stadium. To make things extra memorable, he hired out the 12,000-seat stadium, which had 175,000 rose petals strewn out in the form of a heart on the pitch. Emmy told PEOPLE at the time that she was taken aback and had “no clue it was occurring.”
Emmy said on the podcast to Savannah:
“We began conversing immediately before COVID arrived. It was on and off, and then we were doing very well, and then we had a massive split where we didn’t communicate for like two months, although it was really more like two weeks. For me, it seemed like two months.”
Emmy also mentioned that their relationship has been excellent since they reconnected, after which Chase proposed.

Savannah discusses her complicated relationship with Emmy.
The future sisters spoke out about their friendship on the Unlocked podcast. Savannah said that she wasn’t always on good terms with Emmy, as they had a tough period at the start of their relationship. The Chrisley Knows Best star said that the two women got into a furious argument while shooting Growing Up Chrisley in Miami, which was cut from the final program.
Savannah said,
“That’s not to suggest Emmy and I have a fantastic relationship.”
Emmy responded as follows:
“But there is no hatred. I realize we’re not sisters yet, but family squabbles are certain to occur.”
Although the sisters admitted that it wasn’t their only dispute, they both insisted that Chase was at the center of it all.
A short look at Chase and Emmy’s dating history
The Chrisley Knows Best actors have had many ups and downs in their partnership, including a temporary split in 2021. All is fine now, as Chase proposed to Emmy in October 2022. Chase made his relationship with Emmy public in the summer of 2020. The pair were already excellent friends and had known one other for a long time. However, Chrisley Knows Best reported considerable conflict between the two in the spring of 2021. Emmy confronted her boyfriend, accusing him of “standing her up” to spend time with his pals.
Chase, for one, said that her continual phoning and texting when he was spending time with his pals made him feel smothered. When season 3 of the show began in the summer of 2021, things looked to be going well between the two, with Chase openly contemplating the possibility of marrying Emmy. In August 2021, the Chrisley Knows Best actor told Life & Style that he was “single” after “ping-ponging” with Emmy for a few months. However, in April 2022, she uploaded an Instagram photo with Chase, implying that they were back together.
Chase then announced in May 2022 that the pair had rekindled their love by publishing a series of images of the couple on a romantic trip. They announced their engagement on social media in October 2022. Chase captioned a picture of their proposal with:
“I am the luckiest guy on the planet; to be able to call you my forever is a gift from God. When it’s dark, you’re the sun, and when it’s dry, you’re the rain. I adore you more than life itself, and I can’t wait to spend eternity with you! To you, my dear! Thank you for taking me for the rest of my life!!”
The couple told PEOPLE in October 2022 that they hadn’t begun planning their wedding yet but had decided on a destination, which would be Charleston. Todd and Julie Chrisley were sentenced to jail in November 2022 for many financial criminal offenses, thus their wedding day may not be as joyful as their proposal.
