Zé Sérgio is a former professional footballer. In soccer games, he was a striker. Zé Sérgio was a member of the S. Paulo club from 1977 until 1984. He then joined the team Santos, where he remained until 1986.
From 1986 to 1987, he played for Vasco do Gama. Finally, Zé Sérgio concluded his soccer career with Kashiwa Reysol in the Japan J-League. He was a member of this team from 1989 until 1991. In 1995, he was also named manager of the team.
In 1977, Zé Sérgio also won a Brazilian League title. Additionally, he won two So Paulo State League titles in 1980 and 1981. He then won the Campeonato Paulista with Santos FC in 1984.
