He first gained prominence as Andy Griffith’s son Opie on “The Andy Griffith Show” and also appeared on “Happy Days” as youngster Richie Cunningham. His 2001 picture “A Beautiful Mind” was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture, and Howard was named Best Director. At the time of Ron’s birth, he had served three years in the United States Air Force. Additionally, he directed the films “Apollo 13” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” by Dr. Seuss.

Ron Howard was born on 1 March 1954 in Duncan, Oklahoma, United States. He is of American nationality and comes from a mixed ethnic heritage, having ancestors from Germany, England, Scotland, Ireland, and the Netherlands. Similarly, he is a Christian and of the white race. Ron had his 69th birthday in 2024; according to his birthdate, he is a Pisces. His father was born with the surname “Beckenholdt” and began his acting career in 1948 with the stage name “Howard.” he is the eldest son of actress Jean Speegle Howard (1927–2000) and director, writer, and actor Rance Howard (1928–2017). He has one brother, Clint Howard.

Don received his education from John Burroughs High School. He later attended the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California but did not graduate.
