Making her return to the tennis court for the first time since 2020, Caroline Wozniacki made her tennis comeback by beating Kimberly Birrell with a score of 6-2, 6-2, in the first round of the Canadian Open in Montreal on August 8, 2023. Having won 30 singles championships, Wozniacki has declared her retirement after the 2020 Australian Open.
It was in June 2023 that she disclosed her plans to make a return. After winning the game, Wozniacki stated,
