On December 29, 2022, the Gabbert brothers helped save four people’s lives in the ocean after an emergency helicopter landing. They were riding jet skis near Davis Islands and Peter O. Knight Airport at the time. According to Blaine, there seemed to be a crew boat in the water that had split up into around four parts.
He also described seeing two yellow life jackets in the vicinity. After evaluating the situation, the three brothers dialed 911. They assisted three individuals in boarding their jet skis from the water. The Tampa Bay police officers came and aided in the rescue of the fourth person from the water.
