Career
Chris Pontius started his undergraduate career in 2005 as a Gaucho at UC Santa Barbara. During his three seasons there, he appeared 86 times and scored 29 goals. He was a member of the Ventura County Fusion before joining D.C. United. However, he never played for the club. Chris made his official debut and scored his first professional goal against the LA Galaxy on March 22, 2009. Because his injuries became too bad, he did not play the rest of the 2010 season. He appeared in 152 games for D.C. United over six seasons, scoring 31 goals.
On December 7, 2015, he moved to the Philadelphia Union. As the greatest comeback player in 2016, he scored 12 goals in 34 games for the club.
