Wexler left Art Center College of Design with the intention of creating record covers. He was the first person in the United States to be introduced to digital imaging. Tony Redhead, the company’s creator, decided to adopt digital imaging technology and started working full-time there. Wexler’s first record cover assignment was to shoot “The Brothers Johnson.” Among his other covers are Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Missing Persons, and Chaka Kahn.
