Wade Hayes was born on April 20, 1969, in Bethel Acres, Oklahoma, and reared there. Don Hayes, his father, is also a seasoned country singer. When he returned to Nashville, he collaborated with Chick Rains. He organized a singing tryout with record producer Don Cook. (the Mavericks, Brooks & Dunn). He had just released his second record, On a Good Night. It came out in the summer of 1996. However, it did not achieve the same level of success as the first, despite selling well financially.
