Welcome, Matthew Blankinship who will feature on Survivor season 44.
The future Survivor season 44 group member is 27 years old, originally from Albany, and now resides in San Francisco, California. The competitor graduated from Oberlin College in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He also worked as a school tour leader while in college. Matthew considers himself to be cheerful, compassionate, and tenacious.
He began his job as a Software Development Engineer at Amazon Lab126 for a year and a half before going on to his present position as a software developer at Google. According to Matthew, he used to inform everyone who would listen that he was going to be on the program one day ten years ago. While he used to be afraid to apply, he is now eager to complete this unresolved business and is very enthusiastic about it. In an interview with Parade, Matthew explained that being on the show is like an emotional battle for him because he wants to prove to himself that he can do this “really difficult game.” He went on to say:
“I believe that as a child, I was much more scared of taking chances and of being evaluated by others. And I believe I’ve matured significantly. However, this will be the final measure of my tolerance for pain.”
According to the Survivor season 44 survivor, he was exposed to the show by a lady he really loved in high school. His buddy thought the program was fantastic and urged them to watch it. Matthew has been viewing the program on a daily basis since then, and being on the show has always been a goal of his. Yul is one victor with whom he strongly connects, and he believes it was “amazing” to see a half-Asian guy do so well on the program. He went on to say that Yul encouraged him to be on the program because he was one of the individuals he saw on TV and felt reflected.
The Survivor season 44 survivor went on to clarify that he had to learn the hard way that things don’t always work out the first time, saying:
“It’s difficult to invest so much of yourself in something. I’ve auditioned for bands, applied to schools, and applied for employment, all of which require a lot of yourself and a lot of optimism for how your life will turn out. You falter because they refuse you.”
