His mother, Lavinia J Norton, was a secondary school teacher, and his father, Hugh B Norton, was a professor at Hull School of Art and Design. His younger sister, Jessica Norton, is a doctor. Norton’s father, Hugh Norton, also likes acting, and now that he is retired, he regularly appears as an extra in his son’s films.
