Cecile Richards Biography
Cecile Richards was born in Waco, Texas, to former Texas governor Ann Richards and David Richards. She began her education in a public school before transferring to the progressive St. Stephen’s Episcopal School in ninth grade. Brown University awarded her a bachelor’s degree in history in 1980.
Her father, David, was a lawyer who specialized in civil rights, labor, and newspaper unions. He won several landmark cases, including a voting rights case that went all the way to the Supreme Court.
