Morfydd Clark will play Galadriel in the forthcoming Amazon Studios fantasy series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The series is a prequel to The Lord of the Rings film trilogy and The Hobbit, both of which are based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s works. The Rings of Power is a prequel to the film series that takes place a thousand years before the events of The Hobbit.
On Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET, the first two episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will be released on Amazon Prime Video. Galadriel is mentioned in the book as the daughter of a prince of Nolodor and is recognized as one of the finest Elves of Middle Earth. She is also known as the Lady of the Lothlorien Woods since she and her husband Celeborn jointly control Lothlorien. During this period, the pair meets Annatar, Lord of Gifts, and collaborates on the design of the power rings. Galadriel carried Nenya, one of the three Elven power rings.
