Season 4 of Selena + Chef will premiere on August 18th, with a fresh lineup of world-renowned chefs providing Selena Gomez with an exciting culinary experience. Matty Matheson, a 40-year-old Canadian chef, restaurateur, and online celebrity, is one of these chefs. Adrienne Cheatham, Devonn Francis, Gordon Ramsay, Kristen Kish, Ludo Lefebvre, Nick DiGiovanni, Paola Velez, Priya Krishna, and Rachael Ray are among the other chefs who will teach Gomez cooking over her summer vacation in Malibu. In addition, by showing its episodes, the series has earned $400,000 for 26 charity organizations so far.

Matheson was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, and his grandpa was a restaurant, so cooking was in his blood. He started his career at Le Sélect Bistro, where he learned French culinary methods from chef Rang Nguyen. Matheson was employed at La Palette in 2006, and by 2010, he was the executive chef at the new Parts & Labour restaurant. The creative chef founded Matty’s Pattys Burger Club and Prime Seafood Palace in Toronto, Canada. During the pandemic, Matheson opened two more restaurants: Matty’s Pattys in Toronto and Matty’s Meat and Three in Fort Erie.
He subsequently rose to prominence as the presenter of Vice’s cuisine and travel series Dead Set on Life and It’s Suppertime. His cheerful and friendly nature earned him a spot on the internet program Munchies. Furthermore, Matty appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where he demonstrated how to create a stuffed shell family dish. Matheson released his first cookbook, Matty Matheson: A Cookbook, in October 2018, and his second, Home Style Cookery, in 2020. In addition, he co-hosted the Powerful Truth Angels podcast with Alex 2Tone in 2017, which was well received by listeners. In addition, in Toronto, he operates his own food and music event, Mattyfest, and has shares in two Maker Pizza shops in collaboration with Shlomo Buchler.
