Season 4 of Glow Up returns to Netflix with 10 aspiring make-up artists from throughout the UK. Maya Jama, a TV and radio broadcaster, will host the program, which will premiere on August 19. The 28-year-old has been in several events and has made a name for himself. The new season of Glow Up will feature 10 British makeup artists competing in a variety of professional jobs such as TV, theater, front-covers, and internet beauty ads. Furthermore, the presentation will be evaluated by cosmetics and beauty masters Val Garland and Dominic Skinner.

Maya Jama from Glow Up began her career as a youngster.
Maya, who was born and raised in Bristol, began her broadcasting career at the age of 16. She first came to London in 2012 to seek a career in acting, modeling, and television presenting. She ventured into the realm of television presenting after a few modeling gigs. Maya was a teenager at the time and began working on a weekly music video countdown on JumpOff.TV before moving on to work for Sky UK on TRACE Sports. She presented a travelogue called Copa 90’s Maya’s Fifa World Cup Cities at the 2014 World Cup. She also presented the World Cup Taxi series, which was part of the same World Cup series. Later that year, she joined MTV as a host of the program The Wrap-Up.
She rose to prominence after collaborating with the Brit Awards, presenting their 2017 Pre-Brit Awards Party and a Facebook live broadcast from the red carpet. Adding to her list of accomplishments, she co-hosted the Saturday night game show Cannonball on ITV alongside Andrew Flintoff, Frankie Bridge, Radzi Chinyanganya, and Ryan Hand in September of the same year. Jama was also a guest panelist on ITV’s Loose Women for two years in a row, in 2017 and 2018.
One of the highlights of the Glow Up host’s career was being the youngest person to co-host the MOBO Awards on Channel 5 with fellow presenter Marvin Humes when she was 23. Maya Jama has also co-hosted many additional shows, including The Circle and Stand Up to Cancer. Don’t Hate the Playaz, League of Their Own Road, and The Big Fat Quiz of the Year have all included the presenter as a famous participant.
Other Works
Maya will be at the pinnacle of her career when she co-hosts BBC One’s Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer with Peter Crouch and Alex Horne in June 2020. Jama co-hosted another BBC-affiliated program, The Big New Year’s In, on New Year’s Eve. In February 2021, she participated as a celebrity guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race’s second season in the United Kingdom, as well as as the presenter of Simon Cowell’s new music competition gameshow, Walk The Line. Furthermore, she took over as presenter of Glow Up after the third episode, replacing Stacey Dooley.
