In September 1967, Chris married actress Susan Sarandon, then known as Susan Tomalin. They had been married for 12 years until divorcing in 1979. Susan used her husband’s surname as her stage name. During her March 2021 visit on the Divorced, Not Dead podcast, she discussed her previous relationships with the guys she had been with, including Chris. Susan met Chris at the Catholic University of America when she was 17 years old.
“We ultimately started dating.” Finally, my first sexual encounter. I was overjoyed. I just got married because we were about to get booted out of school. So we decided to determine whether or not to renew every year,” the Oscar winner told presenter Caroline Stanbury.
