Lauren Goodger’s ex-boyfriend, Jake Mclean, died in a horrific accident in Turkey, while his partner, Yazmin Oukhellou, was critically wounded. The 33-year-old was driving in Turkey’s Bodrum when he lost control of his vehicle and went down a cliff, according to the Daily Mail. Mclean was unable to be rescued despite the efforts of emergency personnel. Yazmin Oukhellou, his 28-year-old girlfriend, is presently being treated in a hospital critical care unit.

Jake Mclean came to prominence when he began dating Lauren Goodger from The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) in 2012. The couple met on Twitter and had an on-again, off-again romance for four years before splitting up for good. According to the Daily Mail, the late star had a criminal past. He received a three-and-a-half-year jail term in 2008 after sneaking his way into a mother’s house and overpowering her before a masked mob burst in and ransacked the family home.
Mclean, who was 18 at the time, defrauded his way into the residence by posing as a real estate agent. While he pretended to be an agent, five other members of his gang entered the house wearing masks, holding fake guns, and threatening them with death if they shouted for aid. According to reports, he barely completed half of his sentence and was in policy detention for additional offenses. Lauren Goodger said in 2013 that she was aware of Jake’s legal problems in the past but chose to overlook them.

The unexpected death of Jake Mclean startled everyone, with a source telling the newspaper that Lauren, who was pregnant at the time, is “devastated” by her former lover’s death. In addition, the source stated:
“It’s a catastrophic catastrophe with a total loss of life. Everyone is in astonishment and praying Yazmin recovers completely.”
Mclean’s romance with TOWIE actress Yazmin Oukhellou made news in 2019. Yazmin and Mclean had been dating on and off since May 2021, after the former split up with her long-term lover James Lock. She moved to Dubai with Mclean in 2021, but they parted up in January when she discovered he had been cheating on her with Love Island alum Ellie Jones. According to insiders close to the 28-year-old actress, her relationship with Mclean was “toxic” at times. As of yet, it is unknown when the couple reconnected or why they traveled to Turkey.
